As a moderate neutral grey filter the Rollei Premium Round ND8 Filter extends the possible exposure time by three aperture stops and represents a good basis for different photo ideas.\n\nGorilla® glass protects the device against rough treatment\nThe Rollei Premium Round ND8 Filter for lense size 49mm is made from the particularly resistant Gorilla®* glass produced by the American supplier, Corning Inc. The glass blanks are exposed to an extremely hot alkaline solution, which provides for an ion exchange on the molecular level. The surface tension of the glass is increased and it is insensitive to mechanical effects, weather conditions or pressure. Even if the glass surface is damaged there is no danger of further splintering of the material and scratches don’t expand.\n\nQuality control with high standards\nAfter a further special coating with the internally developed Luminance Coating, the filter surface possesses a kind of defensive shield against oil, water and dirt and gains enormous resistance to mechanical stresses due to the final anti-scratch layer. The high light permeability and outstanding colour neutrality is preserved by the Luminance Coating and distortions and reflections are effectively prevented. These are the best conditions, in order to secure the optical characteristics of the original subject in pure form. In order to be able to guarantee these unique optical and material characteristics, Rollei introduced a particularly stringent quality management system of its own. Rollei premium round ND8 filters were painstakingly checked several times and already in the development phase, the Rollei filter experts precisely stipulated every subsequent production step. This premium round filter is available in the nine most prevalent lens diameters from 49 to 82 mm.
