Designed around a stunning, ‘all-round entertainment’ concept, the Acer Aspire X1700 combines the latest technology in an extra Small Form Factor design that occupies less than a third of the space of a traditional desktop PC. Even in a space saving design, the Aspire X1700 series boasts a full set of powerful features, while its stylish and sleek high-gloss black bezel lends it an elegant and classy touch. In addition it reduces environmental impact: the extra small form factor is an environmentally friendly option that delivers both space and power savings.

Driven by Intel® Core™2 Quad processor, the new Acer Aspire X1700 features NVIDIA® GeForce® 7100 and nForce® 630i chipset. To ensure seamless multitasking and productivity the Acer Aspire X1700 comes with up to 4 GB of DDR2 memory, while swifter data access and reliability comes through the SATA hard disk drive which can be specified up to 1TB. A choice of optional discrete VGA graphic cards ensures peace-of-mind performance as well as a superior multimedia experience through DirectX® 10 support.

The Aspire X1700 offers great multimedia entertainment thanks to the HDMI port, providing outstanding audio and video quality in a single cable, and High-definition audio with 5.1-channel surround sound with S/PDIF support that enables excellent sound quality for a theatre-like entertainment experience at home. As an option, the Aspire X1700 can be equipped with an internal TV tuner to let you also enjoy your favourite programmes.

The Aspire X1700 is equipped with a full range of ports: five USB 2.0 ports in front and another four to the rear, an IEEE 1394 port and an eSATA port offers external storage options with high data transfer rates. A multi-in-one card reader supporting the latest media formats, ensures ease of connection for a wide choice of multimedia devices.

To protect your data, the Aspire X series includes smart security modules from the Acer Empowering Technology suite:
- eDataSecurity, a handy encryption utility to safely store all files on a password-protected drive and protect them from unauthorized access with Personal Secure Disk (PSD) support. eDataSecurity supports Windows Messenger, Outlook and Lotus Notes;
- eRecovery Management a reliable and flexible backup and recovery manager;
- Acer eSetting consists of an easy-to-follow user interface that provides a simple way to manage and control all system features. It keeps an eye on overall system health: monitoring hardware components, keeping track of assets and alerting the user of any hardware changes.
